Transportation program that provides rides for people in and around their community
Additional Information
Transportation is available locally and to medical appointments in Rochester, the Twin Cities and throughout the state.
Transportation programs include:
* Door2Door - Volunteer service for Mankato and North Mankato residents age 60+ who do not have access to public transportation for appointments or errands. Transportation to out-of-town medical appointments can be arranged.
* People to Jobs - Employment and employment-related transportation for single parents, refugees, and other low-income workers. This program is a 6-month transitional service while clients find permanent transportation options.
* True Transit - Public transit equipped with a lift, provided to all residents in Blue Earth, Le Sueur and Nicollet counties.

Patrons generally have no private transportation and are unable to use the fixed-route public transportation system; or live in a rural area not served by a public transit system.

Programs that provide transportation for medical appointments, trips from and between hospitals, to nursing homes or other special-care centers or for other non-emergency medical needs for individuals who, because of financial problems or their physical condition, are unable to use other means of local transportation. NEMT service providers are able to transport riders who require a wheelchair lift equipped vehicle with appropriate protective restraints or a van that is designed for gurney/stretcher transportation, or has other types of features to meet their safety needs.
